It’s a special week at ShipMonk as we congratulate our founder Jan Bednar on being recognized as a National Winner of the Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year® 2022 Award. Known for his innovation across the ecommerce and 3PL landscape, Jan Bednar of ShipMonk received recognition in the “Creators” category of the award.
The National Award was presented during a celebration held at the Strategic Growth Forum®, one of the nation’s most prestigious gatherings of high-growth, market-leading companies. Each candidate competing for the honor was evaluated based on entrepreneurial spirit, company purpose, growth, impact, and other core contributions and attributes that Jan and ShipMonk embody. On par with that, earlier this year Jan and ShipMonk were recognized in EY’s 2022 regional category with the Entrepreneur of the Year® 2022 Florida Award.
From ShipMonk’s humble founding in Jan’s Florida Atlantic University (FAU) dorm room, the focus has been on utilizing technology and transparency to drive innovation and foster growth. At its core, the nimble third-party logistics (3PL) company was created to compete with shipping giants and disrupt an industry plagued by slow turnaround, inefficiencies, and labor constraints.
“I knew that if I worried about the little things in software features, warehouse efficiencies, and user experience, the larger picture would sort itself out,” said Jan. “I was right. At ShipMonk, we sweat the small stuff so our clients don’t have to worry.”
Today, Jan’s future-forward ideas about efficiency, possibility, growth, and technology continue to drive our 3PL and its diverse portfolio of ecommerce brands onward no matter what obstacles come their way.
